Fedora 17 was released on May 27, 2012. It contained many latest development results from free and open source community at the time. From user aspect, the improvements were GNOME 3.4, KDE 4.8, new iBus Indic Typing Booster, built-in Korean font changed from Un to ​Nanum, Blender 2.6.1, Gimp 2.8.0, CUPS colord profile service suport, etc. To let more and more people know Fedora Project and new features of Fedora 17 better, the ambassador in Taiwan, Cheng-Chia Tseng, hosted "Fedora 17 Release Party @ Taichung" event to share the news with those who are interesting on June 3, 2012. Cheng-Chia requested a ticket to host the event at Blackcat Moon Cafe in Taichung City, Taiwan. It locates at No.111, Dadun 20th St., Xitun Dist., Taichung City 407, Taiwan (R.O.C.). Fedora 17 在2012年5月27日發行了，搭載許多自由與開源社群的最新發展。以使用者層面來說，諸如 GNOME 3.4、KDE 4.8、iBus 帶來新的輸入法切換器與 Indic Typing Booster、內建韓文字型從 Un 換為 ​Nanum、Blender 2.6.1、Gimp 2.8.0、CUPS colord 色​彩​描​述​檔​服​務​的​支​援... 等。 為了讓大家更瞭解 Fedora 專案，以及 Fedora 17 帶來的新特色，於2012年6月3日舉辦了「Fedora 17  發行派對 @ 臺中」的活動和大家一同分享這個消息。 這次臺灣區 Fedora 大使向 Fedora Project 申請在臺中的「黑貓月亮咖啡館」舉辦，它位於台灣台中市西屯區大墩二十街111號，而二樓包場的場地費用可以折抵消費。經 Fedora Project 的亞太區大使們共同討論後，批准了這個發行派對場地費的申請，因此大家有 200 元的額度可以點免費提供的茶點與咖啡，讓活動更舒服、愜意、享受。 由於該咖啡店隱身於大墩二十街，招牌不大，因此主辦單位在咖啡店門口張貼了 Fedora 的海報，供參與者更易辨識其店面所在。 到場後，就能先點杯咖啡啦！ 除了咖啡外，活動中也有附上茶點供大家享用。 主講人正在做活動前的準備。 在主持人暖完場後開個頭後，先請大家自我介紹，讓大家更瞭解對方是在做什麼的，怎麼接觸 Linux 的，並進一步拉近彼此的距離。 等大家介紹完後，由臺灣區 Fedora 大使 Cheng-Chia Tseng 起頭，介紹 Fedora 的歷史、核心理念、F17 新版的特色概覽，最後針對其個人使用的 GNOME 3.4 做些新功能與特色的介紹。 此外，也介紹了一些社群資源與交流管道，包括剛成立的 Fedora Facebook 社團，過去曾火紅的 Fedora 愛用者論壇 http://fedora.tw/ ，以及剛上線不久的 Fedora 臺灣社群支援站 http://fedora.linux.org.tw/ 。 WM Chang 則針對 Fedora 採用的 Systemd 解說如何調校它，透過關閉一些服務來加速開機。
